National night out 2025

Residents of Southeast Raleigh came together to enjoy music, fellowship, and food for National Night Out which aims to enhance the bond between community members and law enforcement. This event also fosters a sense of togetherness in neighborhoods, contributing to a more compassionate living environment. Throughout the evening, residents had the opportunity not only engage with Raleigh police officers and local leaders but also had the chance to access local resources, including medical and safety services. Organizers also distributed back-to-school supplies, such as notebooks and backpacks, to assist local children in preparing for the upcoming school year.

Those in attendance include Sheriff Willie Rowe ( black suit, pictured with firemen), Raleigh Police Department, Alliance Medical Ministry, Wake County Public Libraries, City of Raleigh personnel, and more.

“I feel both excited and thankful because this event allows the community to unite.” Said Octavia Rainey, Raleigh activist and historian. “Numerous organizations are present, offering resources related to healthcare, education, and more. This event is known as National Crime Prevention Night, where we all gather to connect with our neighbors and learn about the organizations that are positively impacting our community. This connection with our local leaders is essential for our people.”
