Paul Murray Center Losing fundning

A historic center in Durham is facing a significant loss of federal funding due to changes in federal spending under the Trump Administration. To date, the center has lost $330,000 in grant funding.

This center is dedicated to celebrating the life and contributions of Reverend Doctor Pauli Murray, a prominent human rights and LGBTQ+ activist who was a long-time resident of Durham.

The Trump Administration has claimed that the center does not align with the interests of the United States. Recently, the National Park Service also took down a website dedicated to Pauli Murray, but it was reinstated after public outcry.
