Just two days after the candidate filing opened in North Carolina, Former Governor Roy Cooper has officially registered with the state’s Board of Elections today to run in the 2026 U.S. Senate race.

Landen Glass was behind the wheel of the truck that collided with Hailey. He faced charges of involuntary manslaughter after authorities reported that he lost control of his vehicle due to brake failure while towing a float. He struck Hailey, who was a dancer with CC & Co. Dance Complex, and she succumbed to her injuries later.
